Freakynuts Headset Reach Extender – adapt 0,5 cm Reach Without Changing Your Bike’s Geometry

Looking for just a bit more reach on your mountain bike without swapping your frame or changing the geometry? The Freakynuts Headset Reach Extender gives you a quick and reliable 1 cm extension – without altering your bike’s geometry. Perfect for riders who:

  • Feel their frame is slightly too small or to big,

  • Want a calmer, more stable ride for downhill or high-speed terrain,

  • Or simply want to follow the modern trend toward longer bikes.

Compatibility Notice

This set is only compatible with frames that have an internal head tube diameter of 56 mm. Please check your frame before ordering.

How Does It Work?

It’s simple and effective: remove your current bearing cups and replace them with our CNC-machined adapters. The engraved alignment marks help you install them correctly.

  • Installed forward? Your bike becomes  0,5 cm longer – offering more stability.

  • Installed backward? Your bike becomes 0,5 cm shorter – increasing agility.

Installation Advice

We recommend using proper headset press tools for installation. However, if you’re handy and careful, it’s possible to install them without specialized tools.
Important: This extender requires a special lower bearing and matching bearing race. These parts are available separately in our shop.

What’s in the Box?

  • 2 CNC-machined aluminum bearing cups (upper and lower)
    Note: Bearings are not included. You can order the correct bearing sets separately in our shop.
